she’s isn’t mad/ as much as she is concerned. always one to take observation on a friend’s relationship chaos: this was a different case. & when such tragedies have come into play with her friendships in the past, she had learned to not take her worries too lightly.

honestly just wanted to make this post cause, while I still really enjoyed the special, there were some things involving brooke’s characterization that i’m just not there for. there were also some things I did enjoy, so i’ll explain both.
HER FUTURE / NEW YORK UNIVERSITY.
it made me so happy to see that despite everything that went on in her junior year, she’s still focused on what she’s going to do with her life. especially because her moving to new york falls into my own future verse, created before the special aired.

I took notice of this line, & I just wanna headcanon that brooke’s grades decreased tremendously during the events of seasons one & two.
not even gonna talk about the whole stavo moving to new york with brooke situation because i’m not keeping that in my portrayal. I’ve learned to accept their relationship a little bit more, but still — not into that.
HOME LIFE / MOTHER.

in this episode we learned that brooke’s mother, monica, is back in her life, presumably coming back after the murder of brooke’s father. and honestly, now rewatching this scene, it makes me a little uncomfortable. brooke seems very used to her mother’s ways & i’m gonna say brooke cannot see a change any time soon. I have no idea if monica is clean or not, here’s to hoping they dive into that with season 3.
FRIENDSHIPS.
brooke & emma!! brooke & audrey!! brooke & her friends!!! i’m so glad we finally got some better scenes involving her & her friends, which season 2 seemed to lack. brooke immediately going over to the duval’s after hearing about kieran’s death to see if emma is okay, brooke & emma being surrounded by the press — I loved all of it. i’m sure brooke felt a certain comfort with stavo in season 2 that she couldn’t find within her friends, & I get that. but obviously enough time has passed where brooke has reconnected with her friends on a better level, including audrey, who she felt very betrayed by. ( still gonna be developing that. )
REACTION TO KILLER / AFTERMATH.
❝ we need to get off of this island right now ! you don’t think kieran’s killer is here, right ? what if kieran’s killer is on this island to take revenge on what is left of the lakewood six ?! ❞
there were both pros & cons of her reaction. at first, she seems very shaky / upset / scared. & she SHOULD be. also, brooke + her friends seem very desensitized to seeing dead bodies at this point, which I can totally understand ( these poor children. ) sadly, some of this seemed to come to an end. to no surprise, instead of a brooke & emma scene where they discuss the killer, the dead body they just found, & how scared they are.. we get a scene of them talking about guys. also, throughout the second hour of the special we see brooke smiling, drinking wine, & hiding in stavo’s arms almost every time something slightly scary happens. it’s honestly just kinda unrealistic to me. this is a girl who knows she’s a survivor, who knows she is strong. she does not need anyone to protect her so it annoys me that they put her & stavo up each other’s ass just for cute moments. they’re both so interesting, it sucks how that is taken away from them at times. as for the aftermath: no, no, no. we got absolutely zero thoughts from brooke about what just happened. about the killer, no feeling of shock of surviving yet another halloween massacre, nothing. all we get is a shippy brustavo scene, & a kiss. that was disappointing, to say the least. so in MY portrayal, this will really affect her.
